The course consists of an overview of pre-natal and post-natal advancement of children from birth to 12 months. Trainees will discover teenage pregnancy and the specialized care and needs of newborns. Course work also consists of the Pregnancy Profile curriculum, Reality Functions simulator child curriculum, and several hands-on projects and activities.

Trainees will discover developmental milestones and the distinct care needed for kids in this age. Course work consists of independent tasks and group activities. Students will have an overview of the kinds of childcare facilities in Manitoba, theorists in childcare, diverse abilities and unique needs of children, assisted finding out experiences in center curricula, youth stress factors, and developing favorable working relationships.

A practicum element will take location duringterm 4. Trainees discover child advancement at particular ages, assistance of young children, advancement of safe and healthy environments, value of play, youth illnesses, and collaboration with moms and dads, professionalism, and directing finding out experiences.
